Cedar Point Information Online! BOOK TODAY!!
All SCREAM members are invited to join us on our 12th bus trip to Cedar Point on MONDAY, JUNE 8TH!

Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio, is recognized as the greatest amusement park on Earth. Cedar Point is considered the roller coaster capital of the world, and holds the Guinness World Record for more roller coasters and more rides than any other amusement park.

Cedar Point's Millennium Force was rated the number one steel roller coaster in the world by Amusement Today, and stands 5ft taller than the Statue of Liberty! This intense scream machine is taller, faster and longer than Canada's Wonderland's new coaster, "Bohemoth"!

Still not impressed? Try Top Thrill Dragster! At a mind-numbing 420ft, Dragster is over 60ft taller than the tallest skyscraper in London! Dragster launches riders from 0-200km/hr in only 4 seconds, sends its train vertically 420ft in the air, and then back down its 90 degree drop, once again reaching speeds of 200km/hr!

Providing there is no significant delay on the trip there, we will be spending around twelve hours in the park, from open to close!

Kings Island Strikes Back in 2009 with Diamondback
$22 million steel roller coaster will be park’s tallest, fastest, meanest ride!

KINGS ISLAND, Ohio - The biggest and most exciting new attraction in Kings Island's 36-year history, a 5,282-foot long steel hyper roller coaster named Diamondback, will change the landscape for thrill seekers when the ride makes its debut in April 2009.

Diamondback will be the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster at Kings Island. The ride will stand 230 feet at its highest point with a first drop of 215 feet at a 74 degree angle and reach speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour. The ride features 10 vertical drops overall including drops of 193, 131, 129, 110 and 106 feet, two helixes - one at 323 degrees and the other at 287 degrees - and a spectacular splashdown ending. The ride experience on Diamondback will last more than three heart-pounding minutes.

"This ride is big - real big - intense and aggressive," said Greg Scheid, Kings Island's vice president and general manager. "Not only are the statistics of the ride awesome, but its use of the rugged natural terrain and spectacular splashdown ending ensures that no other roller coaster tops these thrills."

Mystery no more — Kings Island building a 'hypercoaster'
MASON — Visitors to Kings Island can see the amusement park is building a ride that park managers refuse to discuss except to say that it will open in 2009.

But drawings Kings Island filed with the city of Mason Planning Department provide new clues about the ride they've tried to hide:

The plans describe a coaster 4,200 feet long, based on scale drawings. It will span from just behind International Street and the Eiffel Tower and over the Rivertown area, between The Crypt and Potato Works and over into what appears to be a wooded area.

It will be smaller than The Beast, which is 7,400 feet long, and bigger than the Vortex, which is 3,800 feet long.

Plans show that each train on the new ride holds 32 people in eight attached cars. The track appears to run over a water feature near the end of the ride.

The ride is designed by Switzerland-based Bolliger & Mabillard and it is listed as a "hypercoaster," according to the plans filed with the city of Mason.

A photo on the Swiss company's Web site for "hypercoaster" characterizes the ride as having "height, speed and airtime." The water feature was not shown.

Boy decapitated by roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia
The popular "Batman the Ride" rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia remained closed Sunday while authorities continued investigating the death of a teenager who jumped over two fences and was struck by the ride.

The 17-year-old South Carolina teen who died was identified as Asia Leeshawn Ferguson, of Springfield, S.C. He was on a church outing when the incident occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday. It was the second Batman ride-related death at the Cobb County park.

According to police and the amusement park, Ferguson and a friend climbed over two 6-foot fences -- a wrought-iron style park perimeter fence and a second chainlink fence around the Batman ride -- as a shortcut to get back into the park after lunch. Signs about 40 to 50 feet apart on the outer fence warn that it is a "restricted area" for "authorized personnel only."

According to park officials, a sign on a locked gate at the chain link fence also reads "Danger zone" and "Do not enter."

Ferguson was decapitated when the ride struck him, police said.

"It is still unclear why the two men were trying to gain access to this unauthorized area," park spokeswoman Hela Sheth told reporters Saturday, reading from a prepared statement.
